Job description:

First and foremost, this role is to develop the candidate to become a skilled toolmaker. The chosen candidate will study towards an extended Diploma Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (Machining) Apprenticeship whilst gaining on the job experience in this field.

During the apprenticeship you will be given hands on training in the manufacture, modification, repair and refurbishment of injection mould and extrusion tooling. Ensure activities are carried out whilst complying with all measures introduced by the company with respect to health, safety and the environment.

Mason Pinder is part of Polypipe Building Products who are a manufacturer of plastic pipe and fittings.

Things to consider:

During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study.  One Friday per month you will return to your workplace.  After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study.  The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:

Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements

A minimum of three GCSEs at grade 5 (or C) or above, including mathematics, English and science, technology, or engineering-related subject.
