Job description:
Wavin Limited are looking for an Engineering apprentice to complete a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance apprenticeship to join their team. The post holder will undergo extensive training to develop skills and competence in the electrical and/or maintenance repair of all aspects of the plant and machinery
Role & responsibilities:
- To operate in line with all Wavin H&S Standards and the implementation and adherence to safe working practices in accordance with legislation
- To be trained to set up, operate and adjust a range of clay processing equipment, including dryers and kilns
- To assist the Production team in all aspects of clay processing
- To attend structured lectures to attain the Level 3 qualification and have a desire to further education
Skills required:
- Able to work on own Initiative

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office IT applications

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based in Catcliffe, Sheffield, for an initial block of full-time study. One Friday per month you will return to your workplace. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
