Aspiring engineers visit the AMRC
The AMRC Training Centre team were happy to welcome the work-wise foundation this week. Work-wise is an initiative inspired and led by local employees, with the aim of enhancing the future employment prospects of up to 200 young people across the city region through a series of summer camps.
A group of 8 young aspiring engineers were given a background of the AMRC followed by a tour of the Nuclear AMRC, Factory of the Future and the Composite Centre. The tour gave the young people the opportunity to get a feel for modern engineering and they seemed suitably impressed by the cutting edge machinery and facilities on show. Work-wise associate John Barber said yesterday they saw the history of engineering in South Yorkshire with a visit to Cutlers Hall and today they had the opportunity to see the future of advanced engineering in the region.I think the group would definitely be interested in apprenticeships in a few years time.
