Bifrangi UK Limited are looking for a CNC machine operator apprentice to complete a Level 3 Machinist apprenticeship and join their team.

Role & responsibilities:

The successful candidate will receive training in:

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements including correct use of PPE, workspace cleanliness, COSHH
  • A sound understanding of CNC milling and CNC turning
  • The candidate will operate CNC lathes and CNC milling machines to manufacturing parts to satisfy existing orders and helping to develop prototype parts for potential new business
  • Experience working on Mazak machine centres and CNC lathes (Mazatrol & Fanuc operating systems)
  • Verify conformity of parts using gauges – sending first off parts for CMM measurement along with an understanding of measurement reports
  • Work with Technical/Quality engineers to improve the processes and working environment
  • Ability to understand operation and method sheets
  • Working with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Understand engineering drawings (geometric tolerancing)
  • Experience working in an engineering environment
  • Programming experience
  • Ability to work under pressure

Things to consider:

During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study.  You will return to your workplace one Friday per month.  After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:

Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements

You will need both of the following:

  • GCSE English language C or 4 or above
  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.

Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
