Job description:
GW Potts Electrical Limited are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Fitter Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Engineering Fitter apprenticeship and join their team. The candidate will be trained to test, inspect, evaluate, dismantle, repair and reassemble AC and DC motors, Servo motors, gearboxes, fans and pumps. They will examine parts for cracks, wear and tear damage, assess for out of tolerance measurements for specific parameters, remove bearings from shafts and or housings; examine bearings, shafts and other moving parts for wear or defects and reassemble and test. The candidate will work alongside management to ensure repair jobs are completed within an effective, efficient manner in line with the company’s policies, procedures and the customer quotation.

Established in 1945, G.W. Potts Electrical Ltd offer a comprehensive range of services to industry. These services include supplying, repairing, and maintaining electrical motors, pumps, fans, generators, drives, and controls.
Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:
Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements
You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
