Technicut Limited are looking for a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship and join their team.

Role & responsibilities:

1. TRAINING
  • First line maintenance of machinery and parts; cleaning of machines to ensure efficient running
  • Receive training in maintenance disciplines to ensure the efficient running of the factory and offices (internal and external)
  • Training in fault finding, and repairs to machines utilised in the production of specialist engineers' cutting tools to ensure minimum disruption to production. (Breakdowns, reactive, preventative maintenance and refurbishment) in line with training plan
  • Receive training in all aspects of use of tools and equipment
2. LOG BOOK
  • Maintain an up-to-date training log on each activity/skill learned
3. DAY RELEASE
  • Attend AMRC Training Centre on a day-release basis and successfully complete all relevant coursework / examinations
4. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS
  • To identify and suggest continuous improvements in the immediate working environment
5. HEALTH & SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT & QUALITY
  • To follow/adhere to H&S and Environmental legislation and adhere to company rules, regulations & standards at all times

Things to consider:

During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study.  You will return to your workplace one Friday per month.  After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:

Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements

You will need both of the following:

  • GCSE English language C or 4 or above
  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.

Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
