Job description:
Lidster Paragon Tool Co Ltd are looking for a Workshop Apprentice to complete a level 3 machining technician apprenticeship.
Role & responsibilities
- Operate machinery, as per operating instructions and training given
- Optimise all machinery usage and production
- Plan daily workload at start of shift to ensure optimal use of time allowing for inspection of all work carried out
- Ensure work equipment and working areas are kept clean and tidy at all times and free from debris
- Report all near-miss incidents regardless of involvement
- Comply with the company health and safety policy

We are the UK’s foremost drill and specialist cutting tool manufacturer, with over 50-years experience in the manufacture and development of cutting tools. We supply to a range of industries including: Aerospace, Automotive, Double Glazing and specialist industries such as Medical, Motorsport and Injection Moulding.
Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:
Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements
You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
