AMRC Training Centre working to develop skills of college tutors
This week four college welding trainers have been with the AMRC Training Centre, developing their professional skills to help them in training their students up to industry standards.
Seen in the photo are trainers Darren Matthews and Mick Grundy of Goole College, Roger McTurk of East Riding College and Neil Painter of Bishop Burton College.
The trainers are all on site with the AMRC Training Centre working towards their ASME IX welding industry standards. AMRC Tutor Kieron Weston said: "The centre not only takes in young apprentices but also adult-learners for continuing professional development. Training the tutors up to the industry standard gives them a solid grounding and background knowledge to be able to educate their students.
"Its refreshing to work with colleges. It is critical that trainers be given the opportunity to practice and develop their skills, to be able to retain the numbers of the next generation of high-integrity welders."
