The AMRC Training Centre is proud to announce its first ever Manufacturing Business Admin apprentice, who will be joining the 160 other apprentices starting at the Training Centre this September.

Sophie Marsden (pictured right) has been employed by Eldon Tool and Engineering based in the Midlands and will undertake the Level 2 apprenticeship course in Business and Administration. The 16 year old is excited to begin the 1 year course and hopes to progress to Level 3 afterwards.

Eldon Tools specialise in the design and production of automotive specialist tools and supply to many international brands throughout the UK and Europe such as BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce. The company has had past apprentices and fully support the scheme, stating that young people are “the future of the business.”

Sophie is already enjoying the mixture of a “job and actually learning” and recommends apprenticeship courses for students still deciding their career path.

Her employer, Sara (pictured left), will support Sophie all the way through the course, and regards apprenticeships as “a good opportunity for any youngster coming through a business.” Sara said she is looking forwards to hopefully employing Sophie after completing her course and other apprentices in the future.

Sophie will begin her course this September at the Eldon Tools site and also at the AMRCs Training Centre.
