Newburgh Engineering ran a charity golf day last week at Hickleton Gold Club to raise funds for Sheffield Childrens Hospital. The AMRC Training Centre entered two teams – one with office manager Julia Barratt and trainer Mick Fairman and the other with trainer Jonathan Radford and apprentice Aiden Willis.

In total, 32 teams (64 players) took part in the annual charity golf day where they played a two ball better ball stableford ¾ handicap. The teams raised just over £2000 during the day. The best news for our trainer/apprentice team of Jonathan and Aiden is they achieved second place, losing out by just a point for first. They each won a Cobra lightweight golf bag.

Jonathan said “we had a great day. We all love golf and enjoy it even more when we can play for charity. I was really impressed by my young apprentice partner Aiden, hes a talented lad – a budding engineer and golfer in one!”
