Local AMRC apprentice has work commissioned by employer
George Nickson has been commissioned by his employers Special Machined Products, to produce a new sign for their testing room.
19 year old George from Sheffield has been an apprentice with the AMRC Training Centre for nine months. He suggested to his employers the room could use some signage and offered to produce one. Putting the skills he has learnt at the centre into practice, George used the Haas Mini Mill 2 to machine the sign ready for his employers.
George is seen here with his sign, in front of the Haas Mini Mill 2 machining centre. The Training Centre has eight of the machining centres, which allows more students to work simultaneously, gaining more time and experience in the machining of metal components.
