Director of the AMRC Training Centre, Nikki Jones, kicks off this year’s National Apprenticeship Week which she says is a “fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the achievements of its 708 students and show how its apprenticeships are setting them up for success.

“The AMRC Training Centre is a real-world manufacturing environment, meaning our apprentices gain hands-on experience every day with equipment that is used in industry. It not only means they can hit the ground running but ensures skill levels are maintained in workforces, so whatever needs and changes arise, our apprentices are always ready.

“It’s wonderful to hear from our apprentices what the training centre has done for them, from keeping them focused and motivated, to giving them the opportunity to work alongside, and learn from, our teachers and staff who between them have decades of experience.”

Nikki says hearing positive stories from employers about the difference AMRC Training Centre apprentices are making in their companies is always a rewarding experience: “It’s fantastic to hear directly from employers how we’re  improving their workforce - it is a testament to the standard and quality of our training.”

She added: “Our current 708 apprentices may be at the start of their careers but I hope that by sharing some of their stories during this week of celebration, it might encourage others to find out if an apprenticeship could be the right path for them. If they think it might be, we’d love for them to get in touch and join us at one of our open events.”
