Pryor Marking Technology are looking for an Apprentice Machinist to complete a Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work within the following Key Areas:
1) To comply with all the organisation’s policies and procedures, with specific reference to the Health & Safety Policy, at all times
2) To attend training as required, and complete all assignments set
3) To work as part of the team
4) To liaise with mentor
Role & responsibilities:
- Work (under supervision) with mentors, to provide competency in all aspects of machining techniques
- To become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of machine tools including but not restricted to Conventional Grinding, Turning & milling machines. CNC machinery to include Turning, Milling & Engraving systems
- To become proficient in the use of measurement and inspection techniques using a range of metrology equipment
- Undertake training to obtain recognised qualifications, A mandatory aspect of this would be the undertaking and completion of assignments on time as well as the attendance of all AMRC Training Centre sessions/ tutorials
- The carrying out of other tasks and duties that may arise that would contribute to the training and development of the Apprentice to improve levels of competence and performance
- Uphold standards within the company by adhering to all policies and procedures
- Responsibility to themselves and others by working to the organisation’s Health & Safety Code of Conduct

- Contribute towards an effective and supportive team environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of products & output are achieved
General
- Contribute to high standards of cleanliness in the working area
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the trainee’s supervisor from time to time

- To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures
- To be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- To understand that as part of training you will be required to work in other aspects of the business as part of the development of the job role

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:
Advanced apprenticeships entry requirements
You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
