Swann-Morton Limited are looking for an Apprentice Electrician to complete a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship. The candidate will be shadowing and assisting the electricians in many of their day-to-day roles, carrying out basic tasks where required.

The Electrical Department is responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical machinery and equipment within the factory or office. The team also oversees the building’s electrical systems and provides essential maintenance and repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.

• Carry out testing
• Working towards a diploma in an electrical field
• Follow the company's quality standards
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards
• Any other reasonable management request

At the turn of the 21st century Swann-Morton marked its progress and achievements by embarking on an extensive expansion programme involving major construction works to increase the size of despatch, sterile storage, the laboratory and overall production facilities. The subsequent building of Cobb Works across from the main site in September 2006 (providing purpose built space for the R&D and engineering departments and then Cygnet works in October 2008, some 400 metres away, adding much needed storage for the raw material stock) underlines a policy of ongoing investment.

Things to consider:

During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study.  You will return to your workplace one Friday per month.  After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:

Advanced apprenticeships entry requirements

You will need both of the following:

• GCSE English language C or 4 or above
• GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.

Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
