Tinsley Bridge Group Limited are looking for a Welding/Fabricator Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship.
A Welder/Fabricator plays a vital role in the manufacturing and production of metal components and structures.
This position involves working with various types of metal to create parts, products and structures according to engineering specifications and project requirements. Welder/Fabricators use a variety of tools and techniques, including welding, cutting and shaping to produce high-quality metalwork.
As an apprentice Welder/Fabricator, you will be learning all aspects of the role responsibilities, in addition to attending block/day release at the AMRC Training Centre. Your skills will increase throughout the apprenticeship to grow into a full time Welder / Fabricator.
Role & responsibilities:
- Develop competency in welding processes, primarily MAG, with some TIG and MMA
- Carry out pre-weld preparations including cleaning, dressing, and edge-preparation of materials
- Identify and select correct materials, consumables, and welding parameters for different jobs
- Work to tight tolerances and ensure dimensional accuracy throughout fabrication stages
- Follow weld procedures (WPS) and company quality standards where applicable
- Carry out workshop fabrication work, interpreting and working from engineering drawings
- Construct jigs, templates, and basic fixtures where required
- Measure, mark out, and prepare materials including cutting and bending lines
- Verify drawings and specifications prior to commencing fabrication or cutting tasks
- Set up and operate workshop machinery such as rollers, punch presses, flame cutters, and guillotines
- Fabricate and assemble metal components to required standards and tolerances
- Grind, finish, and prepare completed fabrications for inspection or further processing
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and work areas

Tinsley Bridge delivers complex fabrication, welding, machining, and engineering projects where quality, safety, and reliability are critical.
Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

Qualification Requirements:
Advanced apprenticeships entry requirements
You will need both of the following:
- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
