Last week saw the AMRC Training Centre welcome its first intake of 150 apprentices.  The week began with an introduction to the ARMC Training Centre, followed by presentations from Alison Bettac, Director of Training; Richard Caborn the former Labour Minister who has played a key part in the development of the AMRC and Denzil Lawrence who provided an overview of the different project groups within the AMRC.

Throughout the week the apprentices were given an overview of their teaching programmes. Alongside this, there was also an afternoon of team building and the week ended with a photo-shoot of the apprentices in their new personal protective equipment (PPE).

All the apprentices took part in a rigorous assessment process to get to this stage, testing their English and maths skills, reasoning ability, mechanical dexterity and team working skills before they were matched to an employer.

The staff at the Training Centre were overjoyed to see months of planning come to fruition with the intake of the students, and look forward to the next chapter of imparting knowledge to the upcoming generation of engineers.
